I had been using off-brand stereos up until I bought this and I was absolutely amazed at how much better the sound quality was after they installed it.Even in my old '91 Accord with stock speakers, this thing gets LOUD and the sounds is clear and crisp. The Equilizer is simple but effective and it's easy to change the custom setting without really even looking so you don't have to worry about driving unsafely. The design is nice and solid and the detachable face plate actually houses all the controls so the stereo is useless when you take it with you (some off brands don't do this). The knob is the volume control, not the radio tuner. I personally love for the knob to be volume so you can quickly turn it down if you get pulled over or something. The install was fairly easy, and the soud quality was great! I did not settle for twisting wires to my car, but one thing I did do that has made me glad I did it, was to soder all my wires, then tape them up with electrical tape. This I feel will keep me from having issues with popping in the radio because of some loose connection. Sony makes a great product and the instructions are easily read.I would say the only problem was understanding how to retro-fit it into my dash. The radio comes with a kit, but was not able to use it. I had to forgo and use the brackets and mount directly to the radio. If you can buy a installation kit as well for your model you are better off. |
